Principal Business Support Advisor (BUDGET) Join the Queensland Government as a Principal Business Support Advisor (Budget) and help manage and support the Office of Industrial Relations Budget. You will be part of a small Budget & Reporting team in Brisbane, contributing to safe and fair workplaces for Queenslanders. The role is future-focused, offering flexible working practices that balance office‑based and remote work to support work/life balance and meet organisational and government needs. As the Principal Business Support Advisor (Budget) you will support the Business Manager in providing financial management advice on budgeting, fiscal strategies to support business requirements, management accounting issues related to OIR directorates, and financial reporting. You will also conduct forecasting and analysis, working collaboratively across business streams within the Office of Industrial Relations. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, direction, coordination and advice on the development, implementation and ongoing operation of budget management and performance, including maintenance of both SAP and Tridata systems. Build and foster cooperative working relationships with stakeholders, develop and implement costing methodologies designed to determine cost of outputs and influence management decisions related to budget allocations and performance. Assist with development of systems, processes and tools for the management accounting function. Identify and provide advice on strategic resourcing issues that impact funding and develop strategies and proposals to address them. Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for high‑level advice to senior officers and forums on finance, budget development and management issues. Provide analysis and advice on organisational and business unit financial and budgetary performance and financial management, including the preparation of content for the monthly business report. Contribute to the financial management requirements of the annual State Budget for the preparation of the Budget papers, Annual Report, briefing notes to the Minister in relation to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee and the Estimates Committee hearing. Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the team(s) over which you have responsibility, ensuring all members observe relevant OIR HSW policies and procedures.
