An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Animal Management Officer to manage and regulate policies/legislation in order to protect and enhance the environment of Camden and the health and safety of its community. As the community continues to grow, this opportunity will allow you to grow with it Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualification, with relevant experience in a similar role Strong working knowledge and practical application of the Companion Animals Act 1998, Public Spaces and (Unattended Property) Act 2021and animal welfare standards Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and engage effectively with community members and stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in safely handling dogs, including aggressive animals, and cats in both shelter environments and public settings. Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and documentation. Experience in designing and delivering education programs related to companion animal management (dogs and cats). Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision. Understanding and commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
