Data and Systems Processing and Reporting Officer, APS Level 5, Chief Finance Officer Join the Department of Industry, Science and Resources as a Data and Systems Processing and Reporting Officer (APS Level 5) within the Chief Finance Officer Division (CFOD). This role supports the department’s strategic, performance, procurement and assurance activities. About the Team The Procurement and Contract Management (PCM) team is part of the Strategy, Performance, Procurement and Assurance branch within CFOD. PCM supports the department in delivering compliant, effective procurement and contract management activities. Key Responsibilities Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes in accordance with the PGPA Act and Commonwealth procurement rules (CPRs). Provide professional advice on procurement strategy, risk management and compliance requirements. Prepare and review procurement documentation and records for processing and reporting activities. Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective reporting. Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor less experienced staff. Perform data entry in procurement systems (TechOne) and reporting platforms (AusTender, GrantConnect). Assist with routine reporting requirements – contract variations, tender documentation uploads, and other procurement reporting. Respond to procurement queries and, when necessary, escalates complex issues to senior staff. Provide administrative support for procurement and reporting functions. Promote behaviours consistent with APS Values and the accountability framework. Key Skills / Personal Attributes Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes. Comprehensive understanding of procurement legislation, policies and frameworks. Ability to exercise professional judgment and manage competing priorities. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Willingness to learn and apply procurement policies and procedures. Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to identify and mitigate risks. Collaborative approach and ability to build positive working relationships. Experience Required Demonstrated experience in managing procurement activities within a government or similar environment. Knowledge and understanding of the PGPA Act, CPRs and financial governance frameworks. Experience in departmental reporting. Qualifications No formal qualifications are required; however, qualifications in a related field would be beneficial. Eligibility Applicants must be Australian citizens and require a baseline security clearance. Successful candidates will need to obtain and maintain clearance at the required level.
