The Infrastructure Platforms team manages all data centres, virtualization, automation, storage, backup and restore capability, and provides after-hours on-call support. Ideal Candidate Desired traits : Knowledge or experience with one or more of the following technologies: VMware vSphere, Aria Operations, Aria Operations for Logs, VEEAM Backup and Replication – SureBackup, Immutable Backup, Essential 8 Maturity Models, Data Centre Operations, Server Hardware Sound understanding of ICT concepts, good digital literacy, quick learner Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, stakeholder engagement experience Exceptional organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities Balance user needs with divisional objectives and negotiate outcomes with tact and diplomacy Can translate ICT and digital concepts into simple terms Comfortable in changing ICT environment Proven initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving Professional and supportive customer‑service approach Collaboration within team and across other teams What You Will Do Support day-to-day operations and participate in project work within the Infrastructure Platforms team, responsible for virtualization, server hardware, storage area network, backup and replication systems, and data centres. Duties Include Administer and develop the Department's VMware virtualization platforms and compute infrastructure. Maintain and enhance the Department's Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Logs infrastructure. Monitor and manage day-to-day activities in the Department's data centres, data rooms and state office server rooms. Tasks include racking and cabling of physical hardware, engaging vendors to resolve issues with UPS, generators and air‑conditioning systems, managing third‑party service provider contracts, securely disposing decommissioned hardware, auditing data centre racks and maintaining rack diagrams. Participate in on‑call roster to ensure availability of the Department's infrastructure after hours. Eligibility Must be an Australian Citizen. Positions require a baseline security clearance; successful candidates must obtain and maintain clearance at this level. Notes A merit pool may be established to fill future vacancies within 18 months of the vacancy's first advertisement.
