Information Management Officer (APS 6 equivalent)Location: Canberra, ACTContract Type: Labour Hire – 3 months with potential for extensionStart Date: ASAP A federal governmentagency is seeking a skilledInformation Management Officer to lead key initiatives that enhance its information governance maturity. This is a short-term opportunity with the potential to extend, ideal for someone ready to hit the ground running.About the Role In this dynamic role, you will: Lead and deliver projects to strengthen information management practices. Maintain and enhance the Information Asset Register. Provide expert advice on records keeping requirements, including for cloud-based datasets. Clarify roles and responsibilities for information governance across the organisation. Review and update record security protocols. Manage sentencing and disposal of records in accordance with theNational Archives Act 1983 . Maintain system access controls and ensure compliance with reporting obligations (e.g. Harradine Report, NAA Check-up). Develop training and communication materials to build staff capability. Draft briefs, procurement documents, and policies related to records and information management. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to broader corporate services activities. Skills and Experience To succeed in this role, you will need: Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in Information Management and records keeping. Proficiency inTRIM / Content Manager . Strong communication skills—both written and verbal. Excellent planning, organisation, and stakeholder engagement abilities. A proactive mindset with sound judgement and initiative. Eligibility Requirements Must be an Australian citizen. Must hold a current Baseline Security Clearance.
