Receptionist / Admissions Clerk Closing date: 30 November We are excited to recruit an administration opportunity within Women’s Services to support our Antenatal Clinic area. We invite enthusiastic, self‑motivated individuals with a positive attitude and excellent computer literacy skills to join the Admin Team to support with all elements of pathway administration—registering patients into the system, making appointments, taking calls and supporting with reception duties are all part of a typical day’s work, on a roster basis. Within this role there are clear instructions to follow for each part of the roster. Ability to follow given instructions and pay attention to detail are a must. Shifts to be worked Mon–Sat 8am – 8pm. Roster will be provided in advance. Interview dates: 8th and 10th December. Full‑time and part‑time hours available. Main duties of the job We are excited to recruit into an administration opportunity within Women’s Services to support our Antenatal Clinic area. Job responsibilities Provide and maintain an efficient and reliable 24‑hour admissions service for women attending the Maternity Unit. Provide an efficient out‑patient service for women attending the Maternity Assessment Unit for urgent out‑patient and day‑case care. Ensure patient documents are prepared and delivered to the maternity unit in a timely manner. Provide admissions information to patients, relatives and staff. Deal with telephone enquiries promptly. Provide assistance and guidance to patients/visitors on arrival to the hospital. Person specification – Qualifications GCSE standard of education or equivalent qualification/experience. Person specification – Skills Organisational skills. ECDL certification. Person specification – Experience Experience of reception duties. Experience of administrative duties. Medical records PAS. Person specification – Knowledge Knowledge of receptionist role and clerical procedures. Awareness of confidentiality. Other information Disclosure and Barring Service Check – this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order). It will be necessary to submit a Disclosure and Barring Service application (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous convictions.
