2026 Unaccredited General Surgery Registrar Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term (2026 clinical year) Salary: HM25-30 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging About the Role Western Health invites applicants to apply for our Unaccredited General Surgery Registrar positions commencing in February 2026. Unaccredited General Surgery positions are suitable for trainees wanting to gain experience prior to acceptance into a GSET position. Western Health offers a variety of rotations, these include: General Endocrine Surgery General Surgery (Bacchus Marsh, Footscray, Sunshine & Werribee Mercy) Vascular Surgery Please Note: All unaccredited trainees will be assigned a night duty/relieving term during the year. We have a strong focus on supervision, education and support All unaccredited trainees are expected to participate in the surgical education program and participate in research activities. About You Hold current (or be eligible for) medical registration with AHPRA Completed a minimum of 3 years full time medical employment post internship (e.g. PGY3+) Completed at least 12 months of surgical experience/training (e.g. a surgical HMO year) Passed or planning to sit the GSSE in 2025 Position Description About Western Health Western Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Victoria, caring for a vibrant, diverse and rapidly growing community of one million people in Melbourne's western suburbs.
