Seeking a Primary Academic Intervention Specialist The Academic Intervention Specialist is a member of the Primary Academic Staff based at the Plenty Campus and plays an active role in the intellectual, social, emotional and personal development of students, supporting the School’s commitment to holistic education and a culture of character. This is a part-time (0.7 FTE), fixed‑term position commencing Term 1, 2026 to 9 December 2026, with the aim of filling the role as soon as possible. What you will do The Academic Intervention Specialist is a key member of our academic community. Reporting to the Curriculum Leader and working closely with the Academic Leaders, Individual Needs team and classroom teachers, you will deliver structured intervention programs that strengthen student progress in literacy and numeracy. Deliver targeted, research‑informed small‑group intervention sessions using diagnostic data to identify learning needs, set goals and track student growth. Apply Ivanhoe’s Instructional Model—Warm Up, New Learning, Dive In, Reflect—and embed Universal Practices such as explicit learning intentions and formative assessment. Create calm, inclusive and engaging learning environments that build student confidence, curiosity and achievement. Collaborate with teachers, Campus and Academic Leaders to ensure intervention aligns with classroom programs and supports continuity of learning. Communicate clearly with families and engage in reflective practice, coaching and shared professional learning to strengthen team capability and student outcomes. Create calm, supportive learning environments that build confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of achievement. Who you are You are a reflective and purposeful educator who understands that learning and character development are deeply connected. You believe in the potential of every student and recognise that clear expectations, structured support and strong relationships create the conditions for confidence, progress and personal success. You bring: Experience teaching in a school context, holding a relevant qualification, ideally with postgraduate qualifications in Education, Curriculum or Pedagogy. Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, staff, parents and community partners. A demonstrated commitment to child safety and inclusive practice, including a valid VIT registration. A solutions‑focused mindset, high professional standards and a commitment to character education. The ability to model and build a culture of respect, reflection and responsibility. A desire to continually learn, grow and support the growth of others.
