Family Dispute Resolution Community Connector Orange Aboriginal Medical Service – Orange NSW Family Dispute Resolution Community Connector Temporary Fulltime Role until 30th June 2026 The position of Community Connector is a role working within the Early Years Children & Families Unit to support families who are wishing to access support through Family Dispute Resolution. The role is responsible for connecting with community to share information and advertise the FDR program. They are required to attend Community events, engage with organisations and seek out unique ways to ensure the FDR program is advertised and known to Communities within the allocated footprint. The role is the first point of call for referrals and is responsible for conducting assessments with families which will assist in determining their eligibility for Family Dispute Resolution. The person in this role will be exposed to highly confidential information pertaining to trauma, mental health, AOD, conflict, domestic and family violence and will be responsible for completing relevant referrals to ensure the family unit is appropriately supported. Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to engage with Community and relevant agencies to build awareness and promote First Nations Family Dispute Resolution, this includes travelling to other Communities within the service footprint. Enhancing the ability and understanding of First Nations families to engage in a supported mediation process to resolve conflict. Demonstrated ability to deal with complex issues, prioritise and work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal, intake/assessment and computer literacy. Maintain regular effective and meaningful contact with families and services. Complete accurate, relevant and timely documentation and records for each family for accountability and reporting both internally and externally. Commencing in 2005 with only a handful of staff members, OAMS has now expanded across 5 locations, providing a wide range of services to the whole community.
