About the Role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Business Manager will play a pivotal role in executing ARI’s strategic and operational objectives across designated branch operations. This includes delivering sustainable growth through operational excellence, commercial discipline, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Business Manager holds full profit and loss (P&L) accountability and is responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve branch performance targets in alignment with ARI’s national goals. The role requires a hands‑on, visible leader who can align people, processes, and resources—driving a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. The Business Manager will be a commercially astute, technically knowledgeable, and people‑focused leader—capable of balancing strategic priorities with operational execution. The Business Manager will play a critical role in delivering ARI’s growth and service excellence objectives while fostering a culture of unity, empowerment, and high performance across the organisation. Main Responsibilities Lead and develop a high‑performing, multi‑site team of supervisors, technicians, and support staff, fostering engagement, and safety. Own and deliver branch financial performance—including revenue, EBIT, and working capital—in line with corporate objectives. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin improvement initiatives to ensure sustainable profitability. Oversee end‑to‑end branch operations across service delivery, scheduling, equipment management, and administration to ensure efficiency, technical quality, and compliance with ARI’s internal quality standards. Ensure adequate resourcing and capacity planning to meet customer and project demands. Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with ARI’s national strategy, incorporating operational targets, growth initiatives, and risk mitigation measures. Provide monthly reports on branch performance, key metrics, and improvement opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders to ensure service excellence, customer retention, and business growth. Identify opportunities for diversification, new business, and enhanced market penetration. Ensure adherence to all regulatory, safety, and environmental obligations. Lead incident investigations, drive continuous improvement, and safeguard ARI’s assets. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance service efficiency, quality, and overall business performance. Experience and Skill Requirements Proven experience in leading operational teams within NDT, inspection, or asset reliability services, or comparable technical industries. Demonstrated experience in P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and delivering to financial targets. Strong understanding of NATA accreditation, ASME, ISO, and other relevant compliance frameworks. Experience in business planning, resource allocation, and operational improvement initiatives. Experience in developing and implementing safety, quality, and risk management systems in line with statutory and industry requirements. Demonstrated capability in team development, workforce planning, and performance management across diverse disciplines. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and client relationship skills with the ability to represent the organisation professionally at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate reports, deliver presentations, and build alignment across stakeholders.
