Position Position Number: 4216 Location: Queanbeyan The Package $1,318.79 - $1,457.27 gross per week + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 7 of the QPRC Salary System 2025). Full-time – 38 hours per week. 9-day fortnight conditions will apply. Overview Are you a compassionate and skilled backhoe operator looking for meaningful work supporting our community? Join our Urban Landscapes team to provide a high level of service in maintaining respectful and beautiful spaces for the bereaved across Queanbeyan-Palerang. Responsibilities Undertake gravedigging and site preparation for various interment types, including monuments, lawn areas, and remote sites. Perform ashes interments and assist with burials with a clear understanding of interment processes. Maintain cemetery grounds to a high standard through lawn mowing, gardening, tree maintenance, and weed control. Qualifications Possesses proven experience in cemetery services, parks, or recreation, with specific expertise in backhoe operations with stick control. Can engage with families and the general public with genuine empathy, maintaining dignity and respect for the deceased at all times. Holds a current Class ‘MR’ Driver’s Licence, General Construction Induction (White Card), and Verification of Competency for Backhoe (LB).
