White Sands Estate is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership in Four Mile Creek, TAS. About the Role This position works closely with the Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations and deliver high-quality cuisine. This is a casual contract essential for supporting our busy summer period . Start Date: December, with expected employment until April . Extension: Possibility of extension into a full-time role . Perks: Onsite accommodation is available if required. What you'll be doing Assist Head Chef with all kitchen management, food preparation, portion control, and ensuring consistency. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff. Assume leadership for kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence. Support menu development, recipe testing, and implementing seasonal changes for the restaurant and private events. Help manage kitchen inventory, including stock rotation, waste minimisation, and ordering. What we're looking for Significant experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, presentation, and quality control. Familiarity with inventory management, stock control, and cost management. Passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes. Commitment to high standards of food safety and hygiene. Important Note: White Sands Estate is currently listed for sale. However, business operations are expected to continue as normal for the foreseeable future, and this role will proceed as described. #J-18808-Ljbffr
