Overview The Medical Workforce Coordinator role supports the Northern Beaches Hospital Medical Workforce Unit. The position is a permanent, full‑time role with a salary range of $70,000 – $85,000, based on experience. About the Role The Coordinator administers educational, roster, onboarding, payroll, leave, and pastoral support for Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s) and staff across NBH, NSW Health and Healthscope. The Coordinator reports directly to the JMO Unit Manager and works collaboratively with the Medical Workforce team. Key Responsibilities Create and administer JMO rosters, ensuring equitable, cost‑effective rostering that follows award practices and safe working hours. Maintain daily rosters, including sick leave, overtime, and annual leave cover for all JMOs. Coordinate JMO onboarding, credentialing, and rotation processes for Healthscope and Northern Sydney Network, business units, and secondment sites. Provide administrative support: prepare reports, newsletters, correspondence, meeting papers, and audits (mandatory training, AHPRA, Visa, WWCC, Safe Working Hours, UROC). Assist junior and senior medical staff with enquiries, orientation, and wellbeing by providing timely advice, support, and guidance. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industrial awards, legislative requirements, policies, and procedures at local, district, and state levels. Contribute to strategic direction, achievement of key performance indicators, planning, and implementation as required. Essential Requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience, ideally in a medical workforce or hospital setting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the Medical Workforce Unit Manager and team members. Demonstrated initiative, independent work, and quick learning in a high‑flexibility environment. Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail in a high‑volume environment. Proven ability to build rapport with diverse staff while maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Internet, e‑mail technology, MS Office, and complex electronic/software systems; proven ability to learn new software applications. Desirable Requirements Knowledge of roster and/or payroll processes and practices with the ability to interpret employment conditions and awards for medical staff. Role Expectations Prioritize effectively and function in a busy teamwork environment to meet deadlines. Proven ability to learn new software applications and programs. Experience in a similar unit in the public or private sector. Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and the Internet/Intranet. Liaise with and develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of, or proficiency to learn medical terminology.
