Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world‑class clinical facilities, services, and care. Job Purpose We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join Nepean Cancer Care. Reporting directly to the Senior Pharmacist, this role will contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective pharmaceutical services for patients across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings within the district. Key Responsibilities In this position, you will play an important role in supporting the development and maintenance of evidence‑based, quality‑assured electronic cancer treatment protocols to enable computerised prescribing. You will also provide medicines information and education to staff, patients, and community groups to promote compliance and safety in drug therapy. A key part of your responsibilities will involve reviewing and actively managing clinical trials conducted in cancer care, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are delivered accurately, ethically, and to the highest standards. This role offers the opportunity to build strong collaborative partnerships within the Pharmacy and Cancer Care teams, driving continuous improvement in service provision and enhancing patient outcomes. What You Will Bring to the Role Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy and current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). Demonstrated competence in current drug knowledge, with a strong preference for experience in cancer therapies. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and quality improvement activities. Demonstrated experience in the provision of hospital based clinical pharmacy services, preferably in a public hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently, as part of a pharmacy team and a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines. Demonstrated competence across a range of IT platforms, including dispensing systems, Microsoft Office applications, and preferably, Oncology Information Systems.
