About the Role This pivotal role will foster strong partnerships with localElders, community leaders, Aboriginal Community-ControlledOrganisations and government agencies while guiding the City inembedding First Nations perspectives across all Directorates. Theposition will also mentor the City’s First Nations CommunityDevelopment Officer and play a key role in advancing reconciliationthrough the delivery of the City’s Reconciliation Action Planand Closing the Gap priorities. About you We are seeking a passionate and experienced First NationsPartnerships and Development Specialist to strengthen relationshipswith our local First Nations communities and ensure their voicesand aspirations are reflected across the City’s projects,services, and initiatives. This role requires cultural insight, leadership, and strongrelationship-building skills to make a real impact. You will bringdemonstrated experience working closely with First Nationscommunities and Elders, alongside excellent communication andadvisory skills, with the ability to influence and inspire othersto embed cultural respect in everything we do. Success in this rolewill be measured by: Increased trust, engagement, and satisfaction among Elders,Traditional Owners, and First Nations organisations. Strong outcomes and participation through the AboriginalReference Group. Evidence of First Nations perspectives embedded across Citypolicies, projects, and services. Effective delivery of Reconciliation Action Plan outcomesand support for Closing the Gap targets. Consistent, culturally respectful practices applied acrossCity services and events.
