Disability Support Worker

We are seeking experienced and compassionate In-home Disability Support Workers to join our team supporting a young adult male with Autism in the Great Southern Region. Your role will involve, but not limited too, assisting with our client’s personal care, their daily activities, ensuring a safe and healthy home environment and administering of medication. We offer the chance to work within a small, committed team with great opportunities for professional development through working alongside therapists and other industry professionals under the Positive Behaviour Support framework. We also offer a flexible roster that pays above award wage in an exciting and always evolving environment. Responsibilities and duties of the role include: Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming Assisting with the administering of medications, including PRN’s Encouraging and engaging in healthy activities; including but not limited to swimming and various games around the home. Assistance with food preparation and encouraging healthy eating. General housekeeping duties and meal preparation Support and manage challenging behaviours as they arise. Collection and completion of incident report and behaviour tracking sheets. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, the following: Current driver’s license, their own vehicle and comprehensive car insurance NDIS ScreeningFirst Aid Certificate Professional Indemnity Insurance Public Liability Insurance Own ABN About you: Be reliable and have good work ethic. Take pride in providing personal care with dignity and respect. Be able to build rapport easily. Have the ability to be flexible, strong and resilient in challenging situations. Take initiative.
