The Opportunity We’re looking for a highly skilled diesel mechanic to join our team in Hume, ACT . If you bring strong technical experience with heavy vehicles and plant equipment and have leading hand experience or are ready to take the next step into a leadership role , this could be the ideal position for you. You’ll take ownership of repairs and maintenance across our fleet and equipment, while supporting the wider team with admin and coordination tasks such as raising purchase orders and ordering parts . This is a full-time, permanent role offering a strong career pathway with a global leader . What You’ll Do Carry out diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on diesel trucks, forklifts, compactors, and plant equipment Prioritize urgent breakdowns and respond quickly to minimize downtime Schedule and carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance Support workshop administration including raising purchase orders, ordering parts, and managing stock levels Maintain accurate service records and ensure equipment remains compliant Work alongside and support other mechanics and contractors on site Uphold safety and compliance procedures in all work activities Step into a leading hand or mentoring role What You Bring Trade qualified diesel mechanic Solid and extensive hands-on experience with heavy vehicles and / or mobile plant HR driver’s license (mandatory) Desire to grow into a leadership or team supervisor role Comfortable using computers or willing to learn workshop admin tasks Strong work ethic , safety-first attitude, and good communication skills Any experience mentoring, leading a team , or managing contractors is a bonus What We Offer A career pathway into leadership Competitive salary package including company vehicle and bonus Secure, full-time work with career development opportunities.
