Heavy Vehicle Mechanic – Field & Workshop Downer Hume, Australian Capital Territory, Australia We are seeking qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics for our Hume team. This role offers hands‑on work on heavy diesel equipment, trucks, and engines in both the workshop and on site. Diagnose faults and provide breakdown support. Perform field service work and travel as needed. Operate and maintain asphalt and earthmoving equipment (e.g., stabilisers, skid steers, loaders, pavers, spray trucks). Contribute to a safe, respectful, and high‑performing team. What You’ll Bring Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic. Current Forklift Licence (required). MR / HR Truck Licence (preferred). Experience with hydraulics and auto‑electrical systems (advantageous). Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset. Flexibility to work day and night shifts.
