Join the Team that Keeps Freight Moving Border Express has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced MC Yard Tug Driver / Forklift Operator to join our PM team at our Underwood depot for the afternoon / evening shift. Shift is Full Time 2pm – Approx 10pm. Hours will vary during peak season. If you enjoy working in a fast paced freight environment, take pride in safety and precision, and love getting stuck into a hands on role, we want to hear from you Duties Operating forklifts to safely load and unload trailers and trucks Driving a yard tug to move MC and HC trailers in and out of the depot Move and reversing trailers through the depot and into allocated bays Monitor all trailer movements to ensure adherence to the operational schedule Supporting smooth and efficient evening operations for our transport teams Perform visual inspections of each trailer's condition before moving and report any damages or concerns to your supervisor Ensure that local yard equipment is positioned effectively in accordance with operational requirements. Skills and Experience A minimum of two years of recent experience in the transport industry is required A valid Forklift (LF) licence with experience in loading and unloading of freight A current MC drivers licence Previous experience moving trailers around a depot and reversing multiple trailer combinations Experience in interstate and intrastate loading would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and work instructions Experience in load restraint / strapping is highly valued.
