Do you have a background in Mental Health Support or Psychiatric Care? Your regular (weekly/fortnightly) visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of this older person - reducing her social isolation and improving her well‑being. The client experiences episodes of psychosis and delusions. A volunteer who is studying psychology or a retired mental health professional is recommended for this match. We ask volunteers to commit to minimum weekly/fortnightly visits for at least 6 months; however this is an ongoing role, and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible. A friendly ear and time to chat is all that is needed. Visits will take place within the aged care home. Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.
