Head of IT and Information Security – Sydney Full-time position Are you a forward-thinking technology leader who loves turning complexity into clarity? What you’ll be doing Strategic leadership Develop and deliver Taylor Fry’s technology, data and security strategies in line with business priorities Advise the leadership team on emerging technologies, digital transformation opportunities and evolving cyber risks Lead governance frameworks and policies that set the standard for compliance and best practice. IT operations and infrastructure Ensure our systems, networks and platforms are stable, scalable and secure Oversee IT service delivery, including helpdesk, system administration and vendor management Drive operational reliability through effective lifecycle, continuity and recovery planning Manage vendor relationships with a focus on performance, value and partnership. Data and technology strategy Lead our data strategy – from governance and architecture to analytics and integration Ensure data systems support informed decision‑making and operational excellence Drive innovation through automation, cloud adoption and digital enablement initiatives Champion accuracy, accessibility and security across our data ecosystem. Cybersecurity and risk management Build and implement a proactive cybersecurity and risk management framework Oversee incident response, risk assessments and ongoing threat monitoring Stay ahead of emerging threats and continuously strengthen our cyber defences Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability across the organisation. Team leadership and development Lead and develop a talented IT team focused on collaboration, learning and results Promote a culture of excellence, curiosity and continuous improvement Partner with external vendors and consultants to extend capability where needed Build technology and security capability across the broader business through coaching and mentoring. Governance, compliance, and reporting Provide clear and regular updates to the leadership team and Board on IT performance and riskManage IT budgets, contracts and assets, with a focus on value and transparency Ensure technology and security policies remain current, effective and well understood Oversee compliance with data protection, privacy and information security standards. What you’ll bring You’re an experienced IT leader with a strong grasp of technology strategy and operational delivery. You’re comfortable balancing innovation with governance, and you know how to build trust through collaboration and technical expertise. Your background will include A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field Extensive experience leading IT operations, infrastructure and cybersecurity in a mid‑sized organisation A track record of delivering successful technology, data and cyber strategies Strong vendor management and commercial acumen Deep understanding of cloud environments, networking and security frameworks A strategic mindset, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
