Headquartered in Queensland, with a purpose-built manufacturing site in Penrith, NSW, our company operates the first domestic production facility in Australia dedicated to tofu-based and enzyme-enhanced natural litter. Our products are formulated using locally sourced agricultural waste such as oat husks and sugarcane bagasse, addressing both pet welfare and sustainability. TF Pet Lab partners with breeders, veterinarians, and leading retailers such as Woolworths, Coles, Pet Circle and Cat by Dr Lisa. As we build Australia’s gold standard in natural litter production, quality assurance and product testing are at the core of our promise to pet owners and partners. Position Overview The Product Tester will be responsible for conducting laboratory and process-based tests on cat litter products at different stages of production. The role focuses on scientific evaluation of performance and functionality, ensuring every batch meets internal benchmarks and regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Obtain representative product samples from raw material intake, in-process production, and finished batches. Conduct laboratory tests to measure clumping ability, absorption rate, dust levels, pH balance, and ammonia adsorption. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, ovens, moisture meters, sieves, and gas detection instruments. Analyse test data, prepare detailed reports, and elevate deviations to quality teams. Maintain accurate records of sampling procedures and test results for compliance and traceability. Support new product development by validating new formulations through structured testing. Studying product specifications and taking measurements to determine conformity to specifications Examining and marking output for visible defects such as cracks, holes and breakages Making minor repairs and adjustments to products Compiling quality assurance reports, maintaining documentation and reporting findings Examining products for defects and grading produce Designating grading of produce and recording details of assessments according to classification system Collecting and labelling samples for inspection Recording details of sampling procedures and sources of samples Preparing samples and carrying out prescribed tests Why Join Us?
