Senior Accountant Sharp & Carter is a leading manufacturer operating across multiple Australian sites. We are seeking a driven Senior Accountant to support our continued expansion and elevate the finance function. The Role Reporting directly to the Group Reporting Manager, this role acts as a key support and second‑in‑command within the finance team. The Senior Accountant (Hybrid MA-FA) will maintain the integrity of the general ledger, lead month‑end processes, and support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, providing commercial insights, and driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting frameworks. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journals. Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany, bank, and fixed assets. Manage accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules. Assist with month‑end management reporting, including preparation of executive summaries. Support and coordinate external audit requirements. Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns in line with ATO obligations. Coordinate stocktake activities and ensure accurate reconciliation of results. Conduct sales and customer analysis to support commercial decision‑making. Assist in cash flow management development and working‑capital improvement initiatives. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure accurate capitalisation and depreciation. Support ERP enhancements and automation projects to improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy. The Ideal Candidate Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role (manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or industrial experience advantageous). Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability; ERP experience highly regarded. High attention to detail with strong analytical capability. Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to partner across the business. Proactive, process‑driven, and able to influence continuous improvement.
