Our 16 hospitals are based in major cities and key regional areas across Australia, with several growth projects being planned.About the RoleOur well-established Townsville Private Clinic incorporates 73 Mental Health beds and offers integrated private healthcare services to Townsville and the wider North Queensland community. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to be responsible for ensuring that patients receive high-quality care, and the hospital operates within the regulatory standards and best practices. This role is responsible for attracting and engaging a high performing skilled workforce, positively engaging our valued medical specialists and driving the operational objectives and targets outlined in the hospital's strategic plan.About YouOur ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and extensive executive-level experience in hospital management, preferably in the mental health sector. You should hold a tertiary qualification in Health, Business, or Management and have a comprehensive understanding of private health sector regulations, including WHS, clinical, and quality legislation and frameworks. You may be currently working as a Director of Clinical Services with a strong commercial background looking for that next step in your career.Demonstrable capabilities should include overseeing all clinical aspects of the hospital, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of patient care, supervising and developing clinical staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders, and managing the budget and resources for clinical services.Your role will involve maintaining high-quality, efficient services, delivering patient care, managing critical stakeholders such as VMOs, and overseeing hospital performance. You will also be responsible for evaluating the success of the strategic business plan and budget outcomes and making critical decisions regarding major initiatives such as capital expenditure and core business changes.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure service delivery of high-quality patient care whilst maintaining clinical governance and hospital regulatory compliance standardsLead the hospital team by connecting them with the Aurora vision and promoting a collaborative cultureDrive revenue growth through development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies and seeking out strategic service development opportunitiesBuild strong stakeholder and community engagement relationships that will enable strategic partnerships to accelerate growthAttract, recruit and maintain a pool of highly skilled and qualified Medical Specialists/VMO’s to meet the needs of the hospitalEstablish and maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships will all key stakeholders, including VMO’s, referrers and community partners.Qualifications & experienceMinimum 5 years’ experience in hospital management at an executive level along with an undergraduate qualification in Health Management or CommerceCurrent nursing registration with AHPRA would be advantageous but is not essentialKnowledge of heath funding models and arrangements pertaining to the private or public health sectorStrong working knowledge of current WHS, Clinical and Quality legislation and frameworksExperience in building strong doctor engagement, managing brownfield expansion projects, and business development exposure would be required.This position not only offers a competitive salary package with performance incentives and guaranteed continual professional development, but it offers the right candidate the perfect opportunity to take the next step in enhancing their professional career.If the above sounds like you and you are passionate about driving excellence in hospital management whilst leading with innovation and strategic vision, please apply ASAP.Initial confidential enquiries requesting a phone call may be directed to
