You could brighten someone's week in just one hour. Responsibilities We’re seeking a Volunteer Social Visitor to spend time with a lovely older woman living in Darlinghurst. She’s a lifelong artist, painter, ceramicist, sculptor, and teacher who has lived and raised her family in the heart of Sydney’s creative scene. These days, she’s less mobile and misses the chats, cafés, and creative energy she once enjoyed. She would love visits from someone who shares her love for the arts and life and values meaningful conversation. You might just chat… or even paint together. Who We’re Looking For An art student, artist, or creative soul Someone who enjoys companionship and giving back Young or young at heart, with an hour a week to spare Location: Darlinghurst Time commitment: 1 hour per week (flexible) Impact: Deep, personal, and lasting. One hour a week can make a real difference. About HammondCare HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, supporting people to live in their homes and maintain their independence. We’re passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of clients who are living at home. Category Seniors & Aged Care Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work Arts, Craft & Photography, Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required We would be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. Training Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face‑to‑face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer.
