Lecturer BA Editing (Ongoing Part‑Time) Salary: AFTRS Academic 2, Tier 2 ($117,386 pro‑rata) + 15.4% super and excellent benefits. Close date: Sunday 7 December :59pm. About The Role Enthusiastic Lecturer of Editing to join BA team within Teaching & Learning division. Under the general direction of the Discipline Lead, this role will teach to a high level across courses, support curriculum development, and provide mentoring and academic support to students. Key Accountabilities Teaching Teach students in courses in accordance with approved curriculum, AFTRS Student Handbook, BA Production Manual and AFTRS Teaching and Learning Plan to achieve approved learning outcomes. Assess students and input grades and feedback into the Learning Management System within required timeframe. Fulfil agreed teaching, tutorial/mentoring and assessment days per year. Provide mentoring and academic support to students within subjects. Maintain effective communication with students throughout semester. Refer student requests for special consideration, issues relating to academic progression, reports of academic misconduct and other matters to the Discipline Lead. Complete relevant administrative work, respond to student emails and attend course and discipline meetings. Engage with AFTRS key Education Policies, Procedures and Guidelines. Create and maintain culturally and psychologically safe workplace. Subject & Academic Quality Contribute to design and development of subject outlines, lesson plans, teaching materials and learning assets. Ensure teaching materials are prepared, reviewed, approved, distributed and archived. Advise the Discipline Lead immediately of any curriculum related issues. Ensure clear outcomes for academic progression, including assessing student assignments, identifying at‑risk students and referring them to support, and communicating relevant information timely using approved templates. General May be required to undertake tasks outside scope of responsibilities to support the organisation. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Develop, scope, propose changes to curriculum. About You – You Have: Qualifications Meet the Academic Employees Qualifications Policy (page 3). Teaching Experience Relevant teaching experience in the discipline area. Industry Experience Demonstrated professional experience in Editing, including production experience and relevant broadcast credits; ability to draw on current networks to enrich the program. Professional Experience Experience in rhythm & juxtaposition subject, narrative, drama, feature editing. Experience with After Effects, motion effects and VFX. Expert skill in AVID, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci and After Effects software. Time Management, Communication, Collaborative Skills Ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise tasks. Effective oral and written communication skills, adapt message for diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team. Safe Work Environments Experience in fostering culturally and psychologically safe learning and work environments.
