Overview Implementation & Activation Director - Performance at WPP Media. This role leads the Performance team’s Implementation Planning and Buying across Social, Search, Programmatic and E-Comm, powered by data, technology and automation. Role outline The role of the Performance team is to deliver excellence in Implementation Planning and Buying. The Director will lead the team with overall responsibility for direction, workflow and quality for the client team. What you should spend your time doing People Openly communicate and collaborate with all internal key stakeholders and reports regularly. Hold regular performance evaluation meetings with reports throughout the year, setting SMART KPIs and creating a clear career development plan with them. Review the team’s training needs to ensure career plans are aligned with progression. Responsible for training and development of all members of the team. Oversee workflow between all team members and escalate issues as needed. Client Understand client challenges, objectives and initiatives. Help build the agency’s reputation for outstanding client service. Build strong and enduring client relationships at a senior level. Provide innovative strategic insights by acting as an expert on the client’s business, industry and competitors. Understand in-scope services and the process for completing work beyond scope. Product Engage with media partners to understand the media landscape and core media principles across touchpoints. Work with Media and platform partners to develop strong relationships and understand offerings relevant to clients. Engage with internal product teams to understand offerings and relevance to clients. Demonstrate knowledge of media planning principles and use agency/industry tools to support plans. Develop media plans, reconcile plans, and update plan changes for accuracy. Support on going campaign optimization to improve objectives (e.g., ROAS, CPA) across touchpoints. Maintain platform certifications (Search, Display, Mobile, Video, Commerce). Use data to provide insights for client teams and other channels. Ensure reporting is clear and insightful for clients. Construct and present robust implementation plans grounded in priorities. Bring innovation and creativity from market insights. Develop future-fit, market-leading performance strategies to fuel client growth. Ensure client investment deliverables are met across touchpoints. Prepare insightful post-analysis reports. Ensure financial and compliance processes are followed with accuracy, including bookings and loadings. Oversee overall delivery of client trading KPIs. Growth & Marketing Collaborate with management to identify and showcase examples of great work. Contribute to awards entries and thought leadership across the agency’s assets. Share relevant commentary internally for the broader agency. Represent the agency at industry events and develop market-leading profiles through relationships. What makes a great Implementation & Activation Director - Performance Experience leading a team. Passion for Search, Social, Programmatic, E-Comm, Data and Tech with extensive agency experience. Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the media landscape and ability to forecast trends and opportunities. Highly skilled communicator with excellent presentation skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Collaborative and able to build trust within a network. First-class negotiation skills.
