As a member of the Catering team at Gertrude Abbott Surry Hills, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life. Overview About the Role: Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures To be successful in this role you’ll need A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain What we can offer you Competitive hourly pay rate Fitness Passport gym benefit Paid Parental leave Long Service leave after 5 years Additional week of leave for Enterprise Agreement shift workers 40+ Locations across NSW and QLD if you choose to move A values based organisation that welcomes applicants from all faiths and backgrounds We know you have many choices of employer - choose Catholic Healthcare where you can make a positive impact and be well rewarded.
