Senior SQL DBA- Major Bank

A major bank is seeking a Senior SQL DBA to join their team on an initial 6‑month contract that may extend, working 2 days a week in the office. A deep understanding of the Microsoft Technology stack is required to deliver the banks SQL‑server Database Platform Service. Responsibilities Senior DBA to interface with the end‑user community and upper management. Participate in enterprise‑level critical systems operational support, SQL projects and consultancy to provide database solutions and services to the business, application, and peer technical teams. Configuration and administration of SQL Server components (SSDB, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS). Database Service performance reporting. High Availability (HA). Provide advanced database support and mentoring to Level‑1/2 DBAs. Database scripting and automation. After‑hour on‑call support on major incidents. Key Skills / Experience Demonstrable advanced experience with MSSQL 2016, 2019, 2022. Thorough hands‑on experience with High Availability deployment of SSDB, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and ongoing performance optimisation. Enterprise level L3 support in large complex environments. Extensive experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, and process simplification/automation using DevOps tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Terraform, etc). Power BI. Financial services – highly desirable.
