About the job Chef (Indian Tandoor and Curry) Position: Chef (Indian Curry and Tandoor) Location: South Brisbane, QLD, Australia Punjabi Palace Restaurant is a well-established Indian restaurant located in the vibrant city of South Brisbane, QLD. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team and help us create delicious and authentic Indian curries and tandoor dishes. As a Chef at Punjabi Palace Restaint, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, including curries and tandoor specialties. You will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure that our dishes are consistently of the highest quality and meet our customers' expectations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of Indian curries and tandoor dishes according to traditional recipes and Punjabi Palace Restaint's standards Ensure that all dishes are cooked and presented to the highest standard Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all food safety and hygiene regulations Monitor and order supplies to ensure that the kitchen is well‑stocked at all times Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring that they follow proper cooking techniques and adhere to food safety standards Work closely with the Head Chef to develop new and innovative dishes to add to the menu Collaborate with the front‑of‑house team to ensure efficient and timely service of dishes Participate in menu planning and cost control measures to maintain profitability Keep up‑to‑date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our dishes Requirements Minimum of 12 months experience as a Chef, must be in an Indian restaurant Certificate IV in commercial cookery or equivalent qualification Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, including cooking techniques and spices Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and a passion for creating high‑quality dishes Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required We offer a competitive salary of $75000 to $80000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
