Our Machine Shop is seeking skilled First Class Machinists to join the team at Tomago. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role will involve operating CNC machines and manual machines to repair or alter CAT components. With a keen eye for accuracy, your previous experience will enable you to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances to ensure all work is completed to standard. The role requires a strong technical background to combine hands‑on work with the ability to problem‑solve and troubleshoot, with pathways to Field Service Line Boring. As a First‑Class Machinist, you will have a safety‑first approach with an ability to prioritise your workload effectively and strive for customer satisfaction. Roster & Remuneration Monday to Thursday 10.5‑hour shifts, Friday 8.5‑hour shifts Hourly rates from $48+ Overtime rates from $73+ *Rates above are a guide only and each candidate will be assessed based on competencies and experience* Skills & Experience Australian recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade essential Experience with manual and CNC machining (FANUC programming) including lathes, milling machines, horizontal and vertical borers, cylindrical and surface grinding, and surface coatings (laser, HVOF and metal spraying) Basic computer skills Nationally accredited forklift, dogman, and working-at-heights tickets desirable Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded Why Join WesTrac?
