Help us support a greener future Full time permanent opportunity with flexible work options $94K- $103K per annum (dependent on experience) + superannuation About the team The Circular Economy unit is responsible for the delivery of waste, circular economy and resource recovery services. The Circular Economy Strategy arm of the team is responsible for the implementation of Glen Eira’s Circular Economy Plan 2022 – 2026 and will develop its succeeding plan. About the role Our Circular Economy Programs Officer is at the very center of Glen Eira’s Circular Economy Initiatives, developing and delivering projects that increase access to circular economy solutions, reduce waste, and promote resource recovery. You will work closely with both the circular economy team and the community to deliver key circular economy projects that increase community circularity, and communications and education programs that inspire change. Other responsibilities include Developing and implementing project plans for circular economy, recycling, and waste reduction initiatives. Build circular economy knowledge and literacy across the organisation through internal education, behaviour change and circular practices programs. Conducting consultations to inform strategies and initiatives. Organising events, managing mailouts, supervising contractors, and responding to community enquiries. Assisting the Circular Economy Strategy team with research, reporting, and grant applications. About you You will bring your strong understanding of circular economy concepts and sustainability framework, along with your exceptional communication skills and relationship-building strengths, to connect with the Glen Eira community and make our initiatives resonate. The following is also required Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, marketing, communications, project management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver initiatives within available resources. Understanding of circular economy, waste reduction, food waste recycling, and resource recovery, particularly in a local government context. Knowledge of best practice behavior change methods and experience implementing marketing or communications plans. Not meeting all the requirements for this role?
