Overview The Tree Management Officer is responsible for overseeing all tree-related works and activities across GMCT, ensuring effective systems are in place to manage tree-related hazards and maintain acceptable risk levels for customers, visitors, and staff. This role involves close collaboration with the Assets, GIS teams, and other key stakeholders to keep tree data accurate and up to date, provide guidance on tree protection measures, and establish new procedures to support tree health and management across all GMCT sites. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and prioritise the assessment and completion of tree works Manage works in line with the GMCT Tree Management Plan Manage and coordinate planting programmes across GMCT sites Establish a clear risk management methodology around tree management at GMCT Manage preventative maintenance tasks and ad hoc works requests via expert Arborist contractors and consultants Maintain, deliver and continually improve the accuracy of tree asset data, mapping and management information in GMCT's Asset Management systems Develop and maintain tree policies, strategies, guidelines, management plans, maintenance plans and procedures Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with contractual plans and organisational policies and procedures Support the Contracts and Facilities team in the management of complex maintenance works across GMCT sites Qualifications Experience in vegetation and/or tree management Experience in works planning, prioritising and delegation of works Experience in general contractor and consultant management Ability to provide sound leadership and clear direction to staff and contractors Understanding of tree protection measures and systems to manage tree-related hazards Benefits Comprehensive induction programme One RDO (Rostered Day Off) per month Fantastic training and development opportunities Free onsite car parking A collaborative team that fosters growth and innovation Employee Assistance Programme to support employees and their family’s overall wellbeing How to Apply Please ensure you include a cover letter as part of your application.
