Tree Management Officer – Tree Services at Bayside Council We are looking for an experienced Tree Management Officer to join our Tree Services Team to oversee the planning, allocation, supervision, monitoring, and completion of tree management activities. Description Primary responsibility is to oversee tree management activities, including conducting assessments, pruning, and removal of small trees to maintain and enhance the health, structure, and environmental value of trees. About the Role Carry out, supervise and guide the team in assessment of tree health to make decisions regarding maintenance and management in line with Council policy. Provide adequate resources to deliver the maintenance program. Manage and monitor service delivery of contractors to ensure standards are met. Assess trees, report on and maintain records for pruning or removal applications. Collate information and report on matters involving Tree Preservation Order breaches. Prepare briefs and evidence for court action or other legal processes. Respond to stakeholder enquiries about tree management within required timeframes. Oversee audits of tree assets for compliance and maintain accurate records. Coordinate contracts for high risk projects and additional resources. Manage the Client Relationship Management system for work scheduling and completion. Participate in community environmental projects such as National Tree Day. Provide regular program status reports to enable risk and compliance management. Promote a positive, collaborative culture through fair, transparent decision making. Work with the team to achieve business unit goals, requests, and priorities. Assist in removal/pruning of trees as needed. Essential Requirements Minimum horticulture trade certificate or higher and relevant arboriculture qualifications, and at least two years relevant work experience. Working knowledge of public risk issues associated with trees. A SafeWork NSW White Card (General Construction Induction). Current driver’s licence Class C. Appropriate traffic control licence as required. Work outside of normal hours as required. Our Benefits A rostered day off each fortnight. 3 extra days off during Christmas each year. 15 days sick leave each year.
