Counsellor/Group Worker - Western Sydney We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Counsellor to join our Men’s Behaviour Change Program, providing support and specialist group programmes to men aiming to change abusive behaviours. Being skilled in working with families experiencing domestic violence with the willingness to work with people who have experienced and those who use violence as this is a high percentage of our core business. About You Tertiary qualifications in relevant human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) or equivalent demonstrated experience Clinical membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA - Psychotherapy and Counsellors Association of Australia) Experience working with men and facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change Programs Demonstrated experience & skills in counselling and group work Experience in providing counselling in an agency setting Demonstrated experience & skills in individual and group settings with people experiencing and/or using Domestic Family Violence (leading DV programs/groups) Experience in trauma informed practice Demonstrated experience relating to diverse groups, e.g. Government departments & other agencies Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promote the organisation’s values through interactions at work Demonstrated understanding of inclusive, respectful practice when working with First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIA+ and people with disabilities Demonstrated commitment to social justice outcomes in counselling & group work Excellent written & oral communication skills Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) Willing to undergo a Police Check Current Drivers’ License About Us We are proud to be part of the merged care organisation that will be known nationally as BaptistCare.
