Head of Stakeholder Relations

In this role, you will get an opportunity to:Build, manage, and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, including the technical community, governments, civil society organisations, industry organisations, development organisations, philanthropic and donor organisations and the private sectorManage and support fundraising strategies and activities to diversify and secure funding sources, and build and nurture donor relationshipsLead research, advocacy, stakeholder outreach and mobilisation, and advice leadership, on strategies and issues related to Internet and digital development in line with the Foundation's vision and missionLead specific stakeholder outreach initiatives, dialogue and other forms of engagement to understand key needs and concerns, and to inform the review and enhancement of project deliveryManage, support, and contribute to the development of organisational papers, presentations, opinion pieces and research in line with the Foundation's vision and missionThe recruitment process will include a minimum of two rounds of interviews including a practical and pre-employment checks (reference and police checks).
In order to be set up for success, we'll expect you to have:Bachelor's or post-graduate degree with minimum 15 years' experience in the technology or related sectorSubstantial familiarity and thorough understanding of the Internet ecosystem, including technical infrastructureExtensive knowledge of technical and policy issues related to Internet and digital developmentExtensive experience in community and stakeholder engagement, and ability to effectively engage at multiple levels, from CEO and decision-makers to technical personnelExperience in leading teams and projects and analysing project deliverables and impactThorough understanding of, and experience working in, the Asia Pacific region, fluent in English and at least one other Asia Pacific languageExcellent oral and written communication, and public speaking skillsA range of existing relationships across the technology, development and philanthropic sectorsWe don't expect you to be an expert in everything and place a strong emphasis on learning and development. The APNIC Foundation is a registered non-profit in Australia and Hong Kong with its main office in Brisbane. The Foundation's mission is "to increase investment in Internet development in the Asia Pacific region" to support the work of APNIC, the Internet numbers registry for the Asia Pacific. The APNIC Foundation and APNIC share a common vision of "a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community". Under its charter, the Foundation seeks to "advance education, on a non-profit making basis, in technical, operational and policy matters relating to Internet infrastructure".
