Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Diversion Officer Full-time Remuneration Package: Level 6.1-7.1 Aboriginal Communities and Organisations (WA) Award 2024. Duties include: Provision of the Western Australia Diversion Program (WADP) delivery in a manner consistent with the service requirements Alcohol and other Drug Diversion Treatment. Work closely with the Alcohol & Other Drug team to provide assessment, treatment and referrals consistent with service requirements. Priority access for clients referred through the WADP. Provide AOD assessment to determine client suitability for participation in a Diversion Program. Provide individual counselling to clients within the Western Australia Diversion Program framework. Write assessments and recommendations to the court on clients AOD use and treatment needs. Provide a referral service to clients seeking the Diversion Program. Provide harm minimisation information to clients. Oversee and support existing activities. Provide one on one counselling to clients. Maintain accurate client reports and report key stakeholders as required. Ensure Occupational Safety and Health guidelines are followed in the workplace. Qualifications, Skills and Experience required: Relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification in Social, Behavioural or Health Sciences or significant experience in counselling or the Alcohol and Other Drug field. Experience in working with people with AOD issues. Demonstrated skills in supervising workers in the provision of effective service delivery to people and the capability to motivate, empower and lead a team to meet program goals and objectives. Experience working supportively and therapeutically with people, specifically Aboriginal community and cross-cultural settings and the capacity and commitment to assist them to achieve positive change in their lives. Demonstrated experience managing a program to facilitate various activities across different locations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated good decision making in dealing with safety issues and with aggressive and/or intoxicated clients, if required. Effective verbal and listening communication skills. Willingness to obtain Police Certificate, Working with Children’s, and First Aid Certificate. Must hold minimum ‘C’ Driver’s Licence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
