Alcohol & Other Drugs Counsellor Full-time Remuneration Package: $102,000 per annum + Housing Allowance & Vehicle Duties consist of the following: Based at Bloodwood Tree provide alcohol & other drug counselling, prevention education, provide assessment, education, and support to individuals/families, deliver group therapies, have extensive experience in developing, planning, promoting AOD programs to individuals, families and community groups. This role provides services and support to our clients, as well as to our locally based Sobering up Centre and outreach to surrounding communities such as Warralong, Yandeyarra and Marble Bar. The role involves counselling, community prevention education, treatment referrals, working with local services for wrap around case management; liaison with local service providers. Following skills are required: 4 year degree with 1 year’s relevant experience; or 3 year degree with 2 years’ relevant* experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience (e.g., 5-7 years); or equivalent level of expertise and experience attained through previous appointments, service, and/or study (e.g., 7-9 years). *Relevant, e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or other Allied Health, or similar Community, Welfare or Behavioural/Social Sciences/Care; Experience in the Alcohol and Other Drug or Mental Health sector; Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people along with solid understanding of Aboriginal culture; Experience driving regionally including driving for long distances/extended periods; Demonstrated knowledge of the alcohol & other drug service system and the range of treatment options available; Demonstrated decision making in dealing with safety issues and with aggressive and/or intoxicated clients; Counselling experience and being able to manage own case files and enter relevant data; Stress management skills, time management skills and be able to work cooperatively as part of a team; Written and interpersonal skills of a high order and the ability to cope with the sometimes-demanding conditions of a remote area; Willingness to obtain a Police Clearance and valid work with children check; Current ‘C’ Class WA drivers Licence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
