Bundoora Secondary College is a year 7-12 College in a quiet residential area of Bundoora, a northern suburb of Melbourne. We are an innovative, caring school and take great pride in knowing every member of our community (both staff and students) as individuals and as learners. The school is set on a well‑developed, picturesque site adjacent to Gresswell Forest. The spacious grounds include a variety of playing fields and as our school farm continues to develop, a range of animal paddocks, productive gardens and indigenous flora plots. SELECTION CRITERIA SC1 Demonstrated ability to inform and influence staff in promoting student engagement, mental health, and wellbeing within a secondary school setting. SC2 Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of wellbeing processes and strategies aligned with DET and BSC priorities. SC3 Demonstrated ability to support student mental health and wellbeing by building and maintaining connections with external agencies and community services. SC4 Demonstrated high‑level interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to establish collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader school community to enhance engagement and wellbeing. SC5 Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a multidisciplinary team to achieve school‑wide wellbeing goals. ROLE Range 4 positions at BSC involve broad management responsibilities across wellbeing, compliance, and support functions. The role requires independent decision‑making, strategic leadership, and timely advice to the Principal Class and School Improvement Team. Responsibilities include managing wellbeing systems, coordinating external partnerships, and ensuring compliance with DET policies and Child Safe Standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Clinical Practice and Case Management Provide brief counselling, assessment, and short‑term interventions for students requiring individual support. Lead triage and allocation of wellbeing referrals for timely and equitable responses. Develop and oversee Student Individual Learning Plans, Student Safety Plans and Behaviour Support Plans. Contribute wellbeing recommendations to Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with DET and school policy. 2. Leadership and Coordination Drive school‑wide wellbeing initiatives aligned with the School Improvement Plan and DET frameworks (e.g., Respectful Relationships, Child Safe Standards). Supervise members of the wellbeing team. Advise leadership on wellbeing trends and emerging needs. Represent wellbeing on the Inclusion Panel and external networks (e.g., Lookout, OOHC). 3. Administration, Data, and Compliance Manage wellbeing documentation and referral systems. Analyse data to inform prevention programmes and resource allocation. Coordinate wellbeing communication with families and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with DET policies and contribute to audits and programme evaluations. 4. Collaboration and Professional Practice Work with internal and external professionals (SSS, mental health services, youth agencies) for wrap‑around support. Engage families in wellbeing planning and maintain transparent communication. Promote staff wellbeing and contribute to positive school culture. Maintain professional learning and ethical practice. Participate in Health & Wellbeing Key Contact meetings to inform proactive planning.
