Your work will support the Integrated Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect Framework and enhance the specialised models of care provided by the Forensic Medical Unit. Provide forensic assessments including injury documentation, photography and evidence collection Deliver integrated psychosocial and medical care in partnership with IVPRS Prepare accurate medico‑legal reports and provide expert court evidence when required Participate in extended hours and 24-hour on‑call rosters to ensure timely responses Mentor clinicians, contribute to research and strengthen district‑wide capability in responding to violence Ready to make a real impact Be part of a team that stands with patients when they need it most. Essential Criteria Registration: Current authority to practice unrestricted as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Selection Criteria Demonstrated Clinical experience with assessing immediate health care needs of patients and providing a referral service as required Completed, be working towards, or be willing to enroll within 6 months of employment in appropriate clinical forensic post‑graduate qualifications, such as the Graduate Certificate in the Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault held by the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV). Demonstrated clinical experience in a relevant specialty and experience in or demonstrated ability to gain experienced in clinical forensic medicine. The ability to work in an environment which is at times distressing, due to the nature of the cases being presented and assessed. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills – including the ability to present in training sessions, discuss matters in Court and communicate to a number of stakeholders including Police, Social Workers, Counsellors and other Nurses and Doctors. Demonstrated strong written skills – including the ability to develop briefs, prepare court correspondence and develop training and other written communication as required. Demonstrated clinical experience with assessing immediate health care needs of patients and providing a referral service as required Strong organisational and time management skills along with demonstrated ability to provide nursing care in a multidisciplinary team.
