Allied Health Clinicians (Speech Pathologist or Psychologist) Allied Health Clinicians - Speech Pathologist or Psychologist Part Time (45.6 hours per fortnight or 0.6 FTE) Fixed Term - 12 months About the Position We are looking for a passionate and suitably qualified and experienced Speech Pathologist or Psychologist to become a part of a multidisciplinary team, providing an effective and collaborative service to children and their families, assisting to ensure they reach their full potential. The Loddon Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local (LCHWL) provides a range of health and wellbeing services to children up to 11 years of age who may be experiencing developmental, emotional, relational challenges or behavioural concerns. Services provided through the LCHWL include paediatric health, mental health support, parenting support, specialist assessments, allied health, family services, care coordination and access to peer support from team members with a lived or living experience of caring for a child with developmental, emotional, relational or behavioural concerns. Added benefits of working with BCHS include: Salary packaging Purchasing leave Study assistance Training programs Novated leasing To successfully apply for this position you will need: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Speech Pathology or a related field with current relevant registration. Experience in, or a desire to develop skills in the Paediatric field. Demonstrated skills and experience in conducting assessments and developing care plans for children and families. Demonstrated understanding of the issues which impact vulnerable families in the catchment, including an understanding around trauma, child development and attachment. Demonstrated skills and experience in assisting families where children are at risk, including a sound understanding of the service system and referral pathways for families. Proven ability to manage a complex case load and provide demand management function (with support) as required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to facilitate a holistic approach to care. Knowledge of family centred practice and family led planning. Sound knowledge of the protective factors and contributors in relation to health inequality and vulnerability. Demonstrated understanding of diversity and inclusiveness. Understanding of broad service health and wellbeing system for children and families. A passion for working with children and families to increase health literacy and enhance health and wellbeing. Current Working with Children’s Check. Current driver’s licence. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake and complete a Satisfactory National Police Check.
