Allied Health Mental Health Clinician NSW Health is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Allied Health Mental Health Clinician. This permanent part‑time position (32 hours per week) is located at Blacktown Hospital. About the Role As part of the Access & Assessment Mental Health Team, you will deliver acute community care, crisis management, and service coordination. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, and service partners, including GPs, hospitals, police and other agencies. Key Responsibilities Conduct intake, triage and mental health assessments. Provide crisis care, home treatment and medication support. Liaise with GPs, hospitals, police and community agencies. Work rotating shifts, including weekends. Supervise and mentor junior staff and students. Qualifications and Experience Qualifications that permit registration as a Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association. Experience in community mental health triage, comprehensive assessments, risk and safety planning, and collaborative care. Understanding of mental health/psychiatry services and experience in crisis/acute management. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with consumers, carers, families and those coping with mental health illness. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, effective verbal and written skills, and intermediate computer proficiency. Experience with acute mental health intervention, early intervention, and CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) issues. Understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma‑informed care in mental health and the ability to implement these in practice. Knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007. Current class C (unrestricted) driving licence, valid within Australia and willingness to use it for work purposes.
