On Offer Based in Miranda, NSW Permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE) opportunity available (the working days are negotiable) Salary packaging up to $15,899 tax‑free Meals and entertainment allowance up to $2,650 Leave loading 17.5% Stride Rewards – discounts from 100s of retailers (fashion, food, fitness) One paid wellbeing leave day per year Purchase up to 5 additional leave days in a 12‑month period (pro rata for part‑time) Paid parental leave support Supportive team environment Excellent training and career development Role Overview As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Mental Health Clinician is one of the more experienced roles in the headspace centre, providing focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of the young people and families accessing the service within a community‑based mental health care setting. The role involves: Providing high‑standard assessments, psychological, counselling and therapeutic interventions to young people with mild to moderate severity, covering a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship and family conflict. Managing one’s own caseload independently while collaborating with the wider clinical team. Running group programmes. Liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Extensive, demonstrated experience providing clinical interventions to young people (12‑25 yrs). Strong judgment and evaluation skills with a working understanding of assessment and care planning. Sound understanding of the public, non‑government and private mental health systems and related programmes. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and sensitivity to work with people at risk of mental illness. Ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a team member. Organisational and time‑management skills, including working under pressure and balancing multiple tasks. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
