We walk alongside sex workers to promote health, safety, dignity and rights through education, advocacy, harm reduction and community development. We proudly centre lived experience, community voice and a strong rights‑based approach. Our team provides outreach, support and information across diverse sex‑industry environments, including brothels, escort agencies, online spaces and street‑based settings. RhED Health Educator (Peer) SACS Level 5.4 | Victorian Pride Centre, St Kilda The Opportunity We are seeking a RhED Health Educator (Peer) to join the team while one of our staff members is on secondment. This role is ideal for someone who brings: Lived experience in the sex industry Strong advocacy skills Experience engaging with marginalised communities, even beyond sex work A commitment to community health, human rights and harm minimisation A deep understanding of the stigma, discrimination and structural barriers sex workers face This position carries the Ugly Mugs / Violence Prevention portfolio, supporting safety responses and harm‑reduction strategies across the community. Your Day‑to‑Day Provide peer‑based education, support, information and rights‑focused advocacy to current and former sex workers. Deliver outreach across street, brothel, escort and online ("netreach") environments—building trust, engagement and safety. Lead or contribute to the Ugly Mugs violence‑prevention program, and support other RhED portfolios. Offer confidential support and secondary consultations to individuals and services. Develop and share health education resources, safer sex supplies and harm reduction materials. Strengthen networks through industry forums, sector relationships and community partnerships. Promote understanding among allied health, community and social service organisations to reduce stigma and improve access for sex workers. Support Friday evening shifts as part of the Hustling to Health (H2H) street‑based program. About You Have lived experience in the sex industry (essential) Are a strong advocate with experience working alongside marginalised communities Hold values aligned with community health, human rights, harm minimisation and social justice Understand the impacts of stigma, discrimination and criminalisation on sex workers Communicate with warmth, clarity and confidence across diverse settings Bring sound judgment, conflict resolution skills and risk management capability Are organised, flexible, and able to work autonomously within a supportive team Believe deeply in the industrial protections, dignity and equal rights sex workers deserve Why Join Us?
