Children's Contact Service - Practice Lead Children's Contact Service: Practice Lead- South-west Metro Part time: 22.5 hours per week / 3 days per week. Ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Based in Fremantle and Mandurah Over the last 70 years Relationships Australia WA has been providing relationship support services for individuals, couples, families and communities. Following parental separation, it is important for children’s well-being and development that they remain connected with significant people in their lives, and that they be shielded from conflict and abuse. The Child Contact Service provides safe and supportive ways for children to transition between separated parents (supervised changeovers) and establish or maintain a relationship with the parent/carer they do not live with and with other family members (supervised contact visits). About the role We are offering a permanent position for the role of Practice Lead: South-west metro of our Child Contact Service program, of which we have 4 locations. Working alongside their co-Practice Lead: North-east metro, and reporting to the Program Manager, the Practice Leads are primarily responsible for maintaining consistency and good practice standards across all the CCS locations and outreach centres. This role supports the Team Leaders by providing consultancy on all aspects of the client case coordination, predominantly in assessing and managing risk and client suitability, and maintaining standards in family reports and communications to the Family Court of WA. The current vacancy is 45 hours per fortnight. Skills, experience, and qualifications Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, counselling or Social Sciences, or equivalent experience Demonstrated experience in working with children and families Knowledge and skills in working with clients with challenging behaviours, and managing risk Knowledge and understanding of Family Law and/or issues around separated families including children’s contact issues Knowledge and understanding of family domestic violence Knowledge and understanding of child abuse, welfare and protection issues Why Join Us?
