About Northern Health Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Community Hospital, Kilmore District Hospital and Mernda Community Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Coburg and Craigieburn. About the Role If you are ready to take the next step into a leadership role, this position requires an enthusiastic and highly motivated Mental Health Clinician to lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians managing a range of consumers with complex mental health and psychosocial needs. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, consumer‑centred care within a recovery‑oriented framework. Provide effective leadership and oversight of daily team operations and workflow to ensure smooth service delivery. Lead and actively participate in handovers, clinical reviews, and other multidisciplinary meetings. Support and guide team members through regular line management, supervision, and annual performance discussions. Promote professional growth by engaging in ongoing learning and development activities. Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture that supports excellence in care. Contribute to continuous improvement and the overall performance of the team. Qualifications Extensive experience and sound working knowledge of community mental health services, including an understanding of the challenges involved in supporting consumers with complex needs. Comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and its application within community‑based practice. Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, support, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving within a dynamic clinical environment. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build positive relationships and foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
