GM3 Mechanical (Fitting & Machining) Apprenticeships You will complete Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, GM3. GM3 is an emerging Australian metallurgical coal mining entity owned by global investment entity Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) and M Resources, a market leader in metallurgical coal industry services. Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain. Roles & Responsibilities General underground duties, mechanical inspections, operation of machinery, function testing, fault finding Test for, locate and repair mechanical faults Maintain existing mining equipment Mechanical inspections and repairs to underground mining machinery including RTVs, gas drainage drill rigs, continuous miner, shuttle car, feeder, longwall, pumps, coal clearance conveyors and surface winders What You’ll Bring to the Table Ability to commence in January Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually Commitment to full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge Demonstrated interest / passion in the trade Mandatory Requirements Drivers licence and reliable transport NSW National Police Check Willingness to undergo Coal Board Order 43 Medical as a pre‑employment requirement Required immunisation against hepatitis A and B for workers in high‑exposure roles; testing every 10 years About Zeal Futures Zeal Futures provides the ultimate training and employment experience.
