Let’s make a meaningful difference together Your Role The Intensive Family Support Service assists complex, vulnerable families who are at risk of entering the Child Protection system. We are a voluntary service that visits families in their homes approximately once a week for up to 12 months, enabling us to work together to keep children safe and achieve family goals. Responsibilities Provide a mix of therapeutic and in‑home practical care to support complex, vulnerable and often hard‑to‑reach families. Actively engage, assess and develop collaborative case plans to ensure we are prioritising the families’ presenting concerns, preparing them to be referred to specialist support services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Social Work, Human Services or Psychology. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management and child protection, working directly with families, children, and young people with complex needs. Current knowledge and understanding of Domestic Family Violence and its impact on children. Understanding of First Nations peoples, cultures and society, and the issues that impact them. Commitment to culturally safe practice. Sound knowledge and understanding of Attachment Theory, Trauma‑informed practice, and Child Development. Current QLD Working With Children Check (Blue Card). Current open QLD driver’s licence. Eligibility to work in Australia. Applications for this position will be reviewed in the New Year. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after this time.
