Designer - Womenswear

Seed Heritage is seeking a creative and commercially‑minded designer to join our team and take ownership of the sourcing, development, and ranging of our Womenswear collection. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will play a key role in bringing our seasonal Womenswear range to life. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure our collections are trend‑forward, commercially successful, and aligned with Seed Heritage’s brand standards. This role combines creativity with analytical thinking, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to product development, stock management, and sales performance. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract role. THE ROLE Research and identify key trends, fabrics, colours, and styling for the season. Develop ranges that align with seasonal spend plans and monitor OTB plans. Liaise with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce product. Attend supplier product development meetings and fit sessions. Maintain style worksheets, style files, and range sheet boards. Ensure all product meets quality, styling standards, and brand positioning. Work with Merchandise Planner and Design Manager to achieve sales budgets, gross margin targets, and stock objectives. Negotiate costs with suppliers and factories to achieve first margin targets. Prepare accurate weekly sales reports and analyse sales performance to identify bestsellers, sell‑through, and slow‑moving styles. Maintain and manage sample sets for seasonal shoots and launches. Undertake overseas buying, sourcing trips, and factory visits as required. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within Womenswear design, product development, or buying. A tertiary qualification or equivalent in Fashion Design, Apparel/Textile Design, Product Development or Fashion Buying / Merchandising. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Proficient in Adobe Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop. Garment fitting experience. Strong attention to detail, numeracy, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with strong time management and prioritisation.
