Join RPS as a Marine Scientist in Melbourne, contributing to diverse marine environmental and engineering projects within a collaborative national team. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: Contribute to projects including offshore renewable energy developments, port development and dredging impact studies, oil spill risk assessments, wastewater discharge studies, and marine surveys. Conduct environmental impact and risk assessments and assist with project approvals under Commonwealth and Victorian environmental legislation. Perform water quality and sediment transport studies. Assist with project management of small to medium projects, including budgets, schedules, invoicing, and client liaison. Participate in field work such as vessel-based activities, diving, and marine and seabird surveys. Contribute to high‑quality technical reports and documentation. Collaborate with RPS and Tetra Tech specialists across disciplines including marine ecology, coastal engineering, health and safety, and communications. About You What you’ll need: A degree in a relevant engineering or marine science discipline. Recent graduate or early‑career scientist/engineer with 0‑4 years’ experience in a similar role. Sound theoretical and practical understanding of oceanography, coastal or marine science, seabird and shorebird or other marine ecology. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and confidently. Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
